This website (sophiesmusic.com) presents and shares the music of Sophie Kazandjian, an independent modern classical pianist.

The best way to get in touch is through the channels on this site: the Notify me form, Bandcamp, or Mastodon. For privacy questions or data requests, email hello@sophiesbureau.com.

This is an information and listening site. It does not take payments or create user accounts; records are bought through Bandcamp under its own terms.

Privacy notice

This site collects as little personal information as possible. This notice explains what is collected, why, and the rights you have under the GDPR and equivalent data protection law.

What is collected

• Details you choose to send through the Notify me form: your name, email address and any message, so we can tell you when a new record is out and share the occasional sneak peek.
• A small playback preference (which track you last listened to and where you paused) saved by the music player. This stays in your own browser and is never sent to us.
• Standard technical information briefly held by the website host, such as IP addresses in security and server logs.

Why, and on what basis

• To respond to you and send the updates you asked for, on the basis of your consent. You can unsubscribe or ask to be removed at any time.
• To keep the site running and secure, on the basis of legitimate interest.

Who it is shared with

Your information is never sold or used for advertising. It is handled only by the trusted services that run the site on our behalf: Formspark (which delivers the Notify me form) and Cloudflare (which hosts the site). If you choose to buy music or follow a link, Bandcamp, Mastodon and Pixelfed handle your data under their own policies.

How long it is kept

Sign-up details are kept only for as long as you want to hear from us, then removed. Security logs are kept by the host for a short period in the ordinary course of running the site.

Your rights

You have the right to access a copy of your information, to have it corrected or deleted, to object to or restrict its use, and to withdraw consent. To exercise any of these, email hello@sophiesbureau.com. If you’re unhappy with how your data has been handled, you can complain to your local data protection authority.

Please use the site lawfully, and don’t attempt to disrupt it, misuse it, or gain unauthorised access to it or its host.

Cookies & tracking

This site sets no advertising cookies and runs no cross-site or behavioural tracking. There’s no cookie banner because nothing stored on your device identifies you.

To get a basic sense of how many people visit, the site uses Simple Analytics, a privacy-first service that is cookieless and collects no personal data. The music player also saves one small playback preference in your browser’s local storage so your listening picks up where you left off; it stays on your device and you can clear it at any time. Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, and the website host may briefly process standard technical data to deliver and secure the site.

The music on this site is composed and performed by Sophie Kazandjian, found by ear and played on the piano. It is not AI-generated.

Your personal information is never entered into public or third-party AI tools. If this approach ever changes, this notice will be updated to say so.
